I assume most of you have heard about the severe flooding in the gulf coast of Florida this past weekend, it was crazy!
I was sent on a food run at work, I asked to take my managers car because mine is a small Hyundai, she drives an SUV and I noticed it was raining pretty hard. It takes me my fourth route to finally find a way to drive where the car wouldn’t get stuck in water, or a road that wasn’t being blocked off. I saw vans with water halfway up to the windows, and tons of emergency vehicle lights. The radio said no one should drive unless they absolutely had to, and here I was buying some damn tacos.
A friend of mine told me that because her house is at the bottom of a hill, she moved her car when she noticed the water rising outside her home. After she moved her car up the hill, when she turned around to go back home she ended up swimming- the water was up to her armpits.
I am thankful there was no damage to my house, pets, or vehicle. I hope it will be done raining on Friday so I can celebrate my birthday in the usual way, beer on the beach.

Wetlands at Sunset
Big Lagoon State Park, Leap Day. This is our last sunset at the park for a while sense we are leaving in the morning going East to St. George Island State Park. Who could ask for a more beautiful display, just had to share it to night.
