This is my second finished piece from the last week or so. I had the basic forms and colours for this piece firmly stuck in my head for a while before I started painting but I wasn’t sure why or what they were about. It was only as I started to work on the piece that I realised it represented someone who has been on my mind a lot lately. It’s not really something I’m in a position to discuss but suffice to say it’s very difficult (nigh on impossible) to feel like you’ve done justice to someone who means a lot to you in an abstract painting. I think it has it’s merits though. I hope the photography is decent by the way, it’s tricky to photograph stuff in our studio. Cheears :)
The Fire / Acrylic & Graphite on Canvas / 14 x 14 inches
This piece is for sale, if interested contact me here, thanks.
Epiphany, By Aaron Snethen. 2012
Self portrait I did last year. Using it as a breath piece this year, it’s pretty big, 24x18in. I actually have painted quite a bit, but most of what I paint is too big to scan. We had to paint a portrait of an expressive or skewed face with abstract colors. Man I look weird.
My good friend Julia was so kind, she took pictures of my breath pieces for me!
Acrylic on Canvas
It was only tagged with “acrylic” so I’m not sure exactly what it is. Nice though.
(please, people, label your work. Especially if it’s for sale.)
